This Is What Good Music Sounds Like . . .
16 July 2010
Ahhh back again!! I've been so lazy with this blog but i promise lol to be more consistent with this ! =] . . . though its only me reading this stuff lmaoo its all good. I leave you with some music from 2 of the most promising new artists to come in a long timeee. J. Cole and Miguel Jontel. I've absolutely fallen in love with both of these artists and the fact that they have a song TOGETHER, just feeds my musical hungerr, rawrrr!

If you don't know J. Cole then SHAME on YOU, but you'll know him soon enough. This man made things happen for himself, by himself. As a young ball-playing NC native all he had was a "Dollar and a Dream" upon setting foot in NYC for college, a big dream that is. He is a college educated man with a dregree in Communications and graduated magna cum laude ! (yup, he did and it shows in his lyrics) He did all that while making moves in the underground circuit with his mixtapes "The Come Up" and the latest "The Warm Up." He's now signed to Jay-Z's new label Roc Nation and will be representing his North Carolina roots (Fayetville, ay!) when he drops his anticipated debut album come October (or if he gets his way, Sept). "Dreams" really do come true!

J.Cole ft. Brandon Hines - "Dreams"

*Download "The Warm Up" (You won't regret it!)
Faves:"Dreams", "Grown Simba" (MUST!), "Lights Please", "The Badness"

And Miguel, he's just amazing. His voice is what I've been craving for ! This man is one gifted artist and multi-talented as well. He started off unsuccessfully trying to join a group that later disbanded. No sweat though, he became a songwriter for artists such as Usher and Musiq Soulchild and is also a producer. He's definitely bringin that real R&B backk and finally getting the recognition that he rightfully deserves. Check for his album entitled "Gravity" dropping soon!

Miguel ft. J. Cole - "All I Want Is You"

*Download "Mischief: The Mixtape"
Faves: "Sure Thing" (MUST LISTEN), "Ooh Ahh", "Overload"
